The newest addition to our school building is our sensory room, which opened to our students in the Spring of 2010. The sensory room is an area where students can explore and develop their senses and their skills. The room has lights, interactive equipment, a ball pit, a massage pad, a light and sound board, bean bags, weighted blankets, and sight/sound/texture boards. This room is therapeutic for children with sensory processing disorders. The room allows for students to calm or stimulate their senses; whether it be visual (sight), tactile (touch), auditory (sound), olfactory (smell), and proprioception (deep pressure). We are very excited to use this new space more in the upcoming school year!
